When churches get things right, Nigeria will move forward – Clergy

Pastors at the ongoing three-day programme organised by Ministers Network International in conjunction with Gospel Believers Mission have been urged to get things done properly in order to move Nigeria forward.

The host, Revd. Adolf Anyanacho said this at the event themed: National Pastors’ Conference. The event took place at   Igbesa, Ogun State.

His words:” The idea behind this conference is to gather pastors together, tell them the ethics of the pastoral work and what is needed to be done so that the church will move forward. It is only when the church moves forward that the nation will move forward.

“The conference is aimed among other things to address the trend where Christians look more at the means to God rather than God himself. People tend to go to churches to receive water, and anointing oil among others, before considering the power of God. This is a serious error that needs to be corrected.’’

On his part, guest speaker, Bishop Adebola Olorunbe of Kingdom Family Church explained the role of pastors in nation-building.  He said: “ Pastors have great roles to play in nation building. They relate with people who make up the nation. If the pastors are transformed, their members will also be transformed. When this happens, our nation will be at peace.”
